The Application specialist for china will related to technical support for sales team, Primary objectives will include ensuring overall customer satisfaction, expanding product application/use and gathering information needed to achieve the company’s long term growth objectives. will work as part of a sales-marketing team focused on penetrating, maintaining and growing the business with specific target accounts in the food industry. Incumbents will provide technical assistance to Sales Representatives during the initial selling process. The Application Specialist will apply industry and product knowledge in a consulting fashion to enable customers to derive maximum value from Qualicon products and, where possible, expand their application and usage, thereby increasing revenue from the sale of additional instruments and proprietary consumables. The incumbent will draw-on and coordinate resources within Qualicon as required to achieve these objectives. The application specialist will identify unmet market needs that may represent new product/business opportunities and communicate these to Qualicon R&D Marketing organizations for consideration and action.
The function responsibilities of application specialist includes the following:
1) Provide industry specific technical and applications support to Sales Representatives assisting them in closing sales to new accounts. This entails developing account specific technical strategies and handling technical presentations as required. This will necessitate interfacing with customer personnel at executive, department head and lab levels.
2) Develop effective professional relationships at the appropriate levels, sites and departments within the account. Develop intimate knowledge of the customer’s needs and operational processes as related to the use of Qualicon products. Develop and implement plans to ensure optimal start-up and usage of the products thereby enhancing customer satisfaction.
3) Identify issues, problems and opportunities related to Qualicon products. Marshal and direct the appropriate resources to effect the optimal outcome. Share learnings with others within Qualicon so that organizational learning is accelerated.
4) Represent Qualicon at professional and scientific meetings/conferences and industry trade shows consistent with overall marketing plans.
5) Collect and communicate market intelligence regarding products, applications and competitors. Identify unmet needs and new product opportunities consistent with the Qualicon mission and strategy.
CandidateQualifications:
1) PhD. in Microbiology or Molecular Biology is required.
2) Excellent written and oral communications, presentation skills.
3) must have excellent team working skills. Candidates must have the demonstrated ability to be both supportive team members and effective team leaders, as required by the situation.
4) Candidates must have strong project management/coordination skills as demonstrated by the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with appropriate prioritization and successful completion.
5) Candidates must have the flexibility and willingness to travel extensively (40-60%).
