Sales Engineer - SID C&MS

Job Title:   SID Sales Engineer
Organization:  Thermo Fisher Scientific (China)
Location: Shanghai, China
Reports To:  Sales Manager
Position Summary:  Grow SID business in China by achieving sales and marketing objectives and working with the post sales service team, marketing team and related factory team to achieve sales, revenue and customer satisfaction objectives for long term success and market share expansion.
.
Job Description:
1.        Responsible for all sales activities in the responsible territory or industry.
2.        Organize and participate marketing activities, such as seminars, workshop or demo as needed to generate sales leads and qualify them.
3.        Provide appropriate technical solutions and quotations to prospective customers to lead to successful closure of sales.
4.        Influences preparation and presents technical assistance, consultation and problem solving to customers as necessary
5.        Develop and maintain key account strategies for high profile customers and maintain good relationship with industry opinion leaders.
6.        Manage customer satisfaction with all installed customers through effective coordination with Customer Support team.
7.        Gather sales and marketing data and submit weekly (Expense) and monthly reports (Won/Lost orders, Forecasts, Cold Call Activity, Lead Follow-up) on a timely basis.
8.        Participate QMI calls and timely report the market conditions that affect the business.  These conditions include knowledge of competition, their products, pricing, procedures and personnel
9.        Responsible for discount administration within assigned authorization.
10.        Arranges presentation schedule with customer base.
11.        Manages controllable expense budget within assigned territory.
12.        Has ultimate responsibility for account management in assigned territory.

Qualifications:
1.        BS degree or above in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or Physics, or equivalent required.  Appropriate experience will be considered in lieu of BS degree.
2.        1-3 years sales experience selling capital equipment, preferably in the analytical instrument market.  Appropriate experience in Applications or Customer Support will be considered in lieu of direct sales experience.
3.        Working knowledge of analytical instrument business. Fluency with personal computers is also required.
4.        Effective interpersonal and listening skills.
5.        Self motivated and result focused
6.        Good oral and written communication skills in both Chinese and English.
7.        Accurate forecasting ability.

Service Engineer SID C&MS

Job Title:   SID Service Engineer
Organization:  SID, ThermoFisher Scientific (China)
Location: China
Reports To:  SID China Support Service Manager
Product: LC/MS

Position Summary:  Provide post sales customer support services such as installation, preventative maintenance, customer training, repair, on-line support or technical consultation as required to ensure customer purchased Thermo products meet Thermo performance and operation standards and customer expectation thus achieve or improve customer loyalty to Thermo Scientific.

Job Description:
1.        Work independently to service SID products involving: Installations, Training, Method and Application Development, Telephone and On-site Diagnostics and Repair Services, Preventative Maintenance visits.
2.        Provide technical assistance, consultation and problem solving to customers as necessary.
3.        Accurately document field service activities, including installation report and service work report, and timely submit through the required system.
4.        Ensuring customer satisfaction in all aspects of services provided.
5.        Follow up on DOA and Hot Account sites to ensure customer issues are accurately and timely communicated to the required party, solution developed and eventually solved.
6.        Implement key account strategies for high profile customers and maintain good relationship with industry opinion leaders.
7.        Share experience and best practice of product services and applications with colleagues. Contribute to knowledge base to allow continued improvement of work efficiency and effectiveness.
8.        Effectively communicate competitive information and additional sales opportunities to Field Sales Engineers.
9.        Actively participate PPI projects to improve work quality and effectiveness.
10.        Submit weekly Expense reports on a timely basis.

Qualifications:

3.        Preference will be given to those with 2-3 years Field Service experience, previous experience in installing, servicing, and sales of analytical instrumentation.
4.        Must have proven ability to diagnose and resolve problems on sophisticated electronic, mechanical and optical instrumentation in a commercial scientific laboratory environment.  
5.        Must have the ability to work independently, have effective communication skills, interpersonal and listening skills.
6.        Effective oral and written communication skills with both English and Chinese (Mandarin).

Application Chemist - SID C&MS

Job Title:   SID Application Chemist - China
Organization:  Thermo Fisher Scientific (China) Co., Ltd
Location:  PR China
Reports To:  Application and Training Manager
Product: LC/MS


Position Summary:  Provide pre and post sales application support for assigned product lines under SID commercial operations within the assigned territories in order to assist lead generation or influence customer preference in favor of Thermo, eventually become Thermo customers and/or loyal customers. Create sales or support tools for assigned product lines to highlight the competitive differentiator or support Thermo customers.

Job Description:
1.        Manage demo lab setting up and daily operation including overall planning, technical specification, plan and order equipment (with proper authorization), install and commissioning equipment. Develop a daily management process.
2.        Assist in lead generation by developing sales or marketing materials (sales presentation, application notes and technical information for customers); joining seminars or workshops and participating trade shows.
3.        Facilitate deal close by conducting customer demo, doing sample analysis and participating sales processes as required.
4.        Conduct application trainings to customers for assigned product line or technologies as required.
5.        Provide technical assistance or training for assigned products or technologies to sales or support channels (internal or external) to enable channel competence and competitiveness.
6.        Create sales and support tools such as competitive tools, positioning message or training materials for channel enabling.
7.        Participate industry and trade conferences to represent Thermo in assigned territories and collect market information to feedback to Thermo factories.
8.        Act as technical link with assigned product line marketing and application staff to ensure commercial industrial and marketing information is timely communicated to factories and factory technical information communicated to the channel.
