1.使用年期长:一般热浸锌的钢铁构件在大多数效区可使用长达 50 年以上，在市区或近岸区也可达 20 年甚或 25 年以上。

2.坚硬度：最外层之纯锌层相对较软及可以吸去大部分的撞击力，而底部之锌铁合金层则非常坚硬，甚至比钢材本身更坚硬，此组合为钢材提供了强硬和耐磨的保护层。



3.阴极防蚀保护：由于锌之电位比钢铁高，故锈蚀时锌会作出牺牲去保护钢铁。
